Day Three:
The White Mountains (Part 2)

A sunny day at 6,288 feet.
Wow! What the heck am I doing up here!?
The U.S. Geological Survey marker. Mount Washington is the second highest peak on the Appalachian Trail, and holds the world wind speed record of 230 mph. Some of the buildings at the summit are actually chained to the ground to keep them from blowing away!
The Mt. Washington Cog Railway is the oldest in the world, dating from 1869. A technological marvel then and now, the railway climbs to the very summit of the mountain.
It takes a ton of coal and nearly two hours to reach the top.
Watch your step getting out!
Aaron and I at the top.
This is the woman who took the previous picture. It's an old habit of mine to always take the picture of anybody who takes my picture. She hiked up the mountain and still had energy left to help us out. Thanks! :-)
